Authorized Training in Aviation

What Is Authorized Training in Aviation?

The operational principles of the aviation sector are defined in accordance with international standards. Authorized training refers to instruction delivered at the national and international levels in compliance with the requirements set forth by ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization), EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency), and IATA (International Air Transport Association).

In Türkiye, the civil aviation authority is the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (SHGM). Individuals who wish to work in the aviation field must receive training from an educational institution authorized by SHGM. In other words, authorized training signifies that the education received is formally recognized by the competent aviation authority.

What Are the Benefits of Graduating from an Authorized Aviation Training Institution?

Graduating from an authorized aviation training institution provides two key advantages:

The period between graduation and employment/authorization is shortened. The certificates required to work in the aviation sector are obtained upon graduation, eliminating the need for additional certification training afterward.

Graduates of authorized training institutions are preferred during recruitment processes. Since they do not require extra training (certification) to begin employment—as mandated by regulations—they hold a competitive advantage over other candidates.
